I recently was given the opportunity to help tell the story about a young woman looking for the perfect man. Kara, the lead character, goes through a series of brutally painful and awkward dates in hopes to find someone who even comes close to her ideal man — a man like Johnny Depp.
Why Can’t They All Be Like Johnny Depp was written and directed by Jeffrey Hirschberg. Among his many works Hirschberg has also written a book about creating memorable heroes and villains for TV and film titled Reflections of the Shadow.
I love being able to tell the whole story and editing this project was a real joy. The performances by the cast were excellent and there was a lot of fantastic footage to work from which made the whole process run smooth. Not only was this a great piece to add to my body of work, but it helped me hone my skills at pacing and editing dialogue for the comedy genre.
